It’s Strawberry Season and so much morešŸ“

Wonderful Childhood memories came to life for me this week when I went to pick strawberries at a farm near my home. I was remembering as a teen sitting with my grandmother and mom in the strawberries fields near my home then eating my weight in berries when I was suppose to be picking them for the jam they were going to makešŸ“. This day as the beautiful young girls who greeted me gave me some baskets, I had a flashback to my very first job in life managing the roadside fruit stand at that same farm where i picked berries, peas, corn, pumpkins and so much more, so many years ago! I remember it fondly, that was such a happy time in my young life, I met my first boyfriend there,I learned many life lessons and I believe it started my passion for food and cooking. As for today and this farm, this not so young lady had an exhilarating experience, it was a gorgeous sunny day, I admired the lovely landscape and smiled as I listened to the young children in the berry patch laughing and squealing as they ran to their parents after finding a biggest berry ever! It was so pleasent I couldn’t stop smiling so I decided to go home with those memories and now it was my turn to make the jam…maybe even some shortcakeā¤ļø I wish for all of you that you can enjoy your wonderfully pleasant memories in the same way….Just remember!!

  3. It was hard to resist eating some, if not more, of the strawberries we picked. I, too, remember that those sweltering, hot days became beautiful with the first taste of those sweet, succulent NYS strawberries! Our Florida strawberries can’t hold a candle!! You have lots of good memories, Karen!
