This past weekend my husband and I went to a wonderful little cafe on the west side of our city. Not only is it a cafe, it really is a cooperative bakery owned by its workers. It’s delightfully quaint with the large chalkboard word full, the racks of bread and hooks full of bagels and pretzels. The smells are absolutely amazing, everything is homemade with natural ingredients and they make all the bread, bagels, pretzels and cookies daily. When our seasons here allow it they use the produce from our local farms to make their delicious sandwiches, soups and salads. I had the most outrageous eggplant, pesto and white bean spread sandwich on sourdough seeded bread, my husband had baked sliced turkey with jack cheese and roasted peppers on seeded rye, both with a side of veggie filled farro salad…the flavors were so fresh and uniquely different that we hardly spoke while eating. Then came our dessert…. Hugh incredible cookies, a Pistachio peach thumbprint & a Ginger molasses, oh so moist and tasty, we were speechless!
Needless to say we had a wonderful afternoon spending time together and when the food is great it makes for a perfect day…we will be back❤️ If you get a chance to stop by, you won’t regret it! Learn of their uniqueness and enjoy all the clever quirks. www.breadhive.com
